Open Back Sweater

Happy Wednesday, hope your week is going well! Yesterday I did my first photoshoot post ileostomy surgery, and I'm happy to say it went well! Figuring out how to dress with this bag has been interesting so it was nice to put on real clothes and shoot photos and feel good! In other news, I started watching Grey's Anatomy recently and I'm here to admit that my binge watching level is bordering on unhealthy. How am I just now getting into this show?!

I wanted this sweater SO bad last fall, but was too late and not able to snag one in my size. Thankfully, it's back and was part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Score! I am obsessed with anything with an open back. It's safe to say I'll be wearing this comfy piece a lot. It's the perfect piece to pair with cute, strappy bralettes. As for these jeans - they're my first pair of AG Jeans and I'm in love. Again, how am I so late to this party?! They fit so nicely and have the perfect amount of stretch. Definitely a brand I will be returning to in the future.

Have a great rest of your week!

Black on Black

It's no secret that I LOVE head to toe black. It's my go-to look every single time I feel like I have nothing to wear (which happens way more often than I'd like to admit). Everyone looks good in all black. Seriously. The monochromatic look can feel boring at times, so I like to mix it up with fun accessories or interesting silhouettes. I absolutely LOVE the open back of this top. It's super sassy and perfect for a date night. Flare jeans are something I never thought I would wear after 2005 but I was pleasantly surprised by this pair! They made my legs feel super long and had a bit of a sliming effect - which is total opposite from what I expected. I guess it's true what they say, everything comes back around. Glad I gave flares one more try!

Did you have a good 4th of July weekend? My weekend was pretty low key. We spent the 4th at the pool and the rest of the weekend just hanging out and relaxing. I've deemed this week 'get my life together' week where I do all that fun adult stuff I've been putting off, like the laundry that's been starting at me for the last week (tell me I'm not the only one guilty of this). I haven't been feeling well lately so I've gotten behind on some things. I'm actually thinking about posting another health related post, but haven't completely decided yet.... stay tuned.

Have a great week!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had an amazing weekend!

This week marks part two of my collaboration with Apricot Lane Boutique! This week I'm featuring a way to dress up the trending destroyed skinny jean.

When I saw this top at Apricot Lane, I instantly loved it, but was definitely weary of the open back. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE anything with an open back, but I do worry about hanging out, if you know what I mean. This top was perfect though! The manager of Apricot Lane, Kelsy who is also a stylist, convinced me to try this on and I'm so glad that I did. It's not too open or too exposing, and with the conservative front, it's perfect for feeling sexy without being too revealing. With the back being open, this top definitely calls for a fun bra. I paired this top with a bralette in the I love same color family and just love the peek of the lace and color showing in the back.

Distressed skinny jeans are definitely one of those pieces that can be dressed up or down. I love how the shoes and this top dressed up this pair of jeans. The light periwinkle color of this top is perfect for spring. Pastel hues are definitely a trend right now and feel so fresh for the season! I didn't want to detract too much from the color of the top, so I paired it with a simple silver necklace. Easy and done!

Don't forget:

If you like anything I post (or just want to check out Apricot Lane Centennial for yourself) let them know Sweet & Sauer sent you and you’ll receive 20% off your purchase! Only good at the Apricot Lane Centennial location.

My good friend Linzy does my hair and I absolutely love what she’s been doing with my color and extensions. If you’re in need of a good hair stylist, give her a call. Let her know I sent you and you’ll receive a free cut with your color!
