Athleisure Moto Jacket

It is getting COLD. Holy cow. We have had some pretty chilly days lately. When it gets that cold, I really just prefer to hibernate and sometimes lack outfit creativity. Thank goodness for the athleisure trend, right? When I can get away with minimal effort looks during the winter, I'm all about it.

I've mentioned these leggings before - they are a must have. They have that faux leather vibe, are high waisted and are so flattering and versatile. And to my ostomy friends - these are heaven and keep everything where it needs to be. Adding a super soft basic white tee (size up for a more relaxed look), a warm jacket that doubles with style and a fun sneaker makes a super simple outfit a little less boring! I love this jacket from Crane & Lion - it's warm, but not overwhelming, making it perfect for chilly days that don't require a bulky coat. Plus, they styling has a moto-vibe and the sleek fabric has that faux leather look as well. Oh, and the hat is necessary when you're on about day 6 of dry shampoo, if ya know what I mean.

These sneakers were a gift and I absolutely love them. I had been wanting red sneakers, but to receive them customized with my blog name on the back was pretty cool. Very thoughtful, in my opinion, and it doesn't take a ton of extra time. Definitely a good gift idea for a sneaker lover you might have on your list!

Oh New York. Where do I even begin. I fell in love with the city this weekend. The lights, the energy, the buildings - everything about it just made me swoon.

I spent the past weekend in New York City with my mom - we had a much needed girls weekend and boy was it fun. We stayed in Soho and explored all the major neighborhoods, shopped, ate, drank and enjoyed all the city had to offer. We had pretty decent weather for the most part, though it was a little chilly some days. Hence this outfit.

Our last day in the city we spent brunching and exploring. Translation: lots of walking. So I layered. I scored this white tunic for $10 a couple weekends ago from Inspyre Boutique at their blowout sale. It's a size bigger than what I would normally buy, but I actually love that it's a little big so I can be a little more versatile with it. I layered under this tee from Nordstrom (that I have in like 5 colors) and I loved the extra detail and visual interest the combo gave my outfit. It was fun and flirty but not too fussy. Paired with my favorite leather jacket, I felt polished and chic rather than frumpy and touristy for our final day in NYC. I just recently purchased these black destroyed skinny jeans and I'm so glad I did! I feel like black denim can look a little harsh sometimes, so the rips and tears add that extra something to take the outfit down a notch. I also love a good floppy hat, especially for those pesky bad hair days - this one always delivers. These sneakers will always be a favorite - they are super comfy and super cool. They are always a stand out. My favorite thing about this outfit is the combination of the unexpected. Layering under a shirt that looks perfectly fine on its own, a statement hat and finished with unexpected sneakers - its 100% me and will definitely be a repeat. I'm so simple and basic with my outfits - I love mixing and matching and paring the unexpected.

Now let's talk about my jewelry. I received this silver necklace as a gift from Chloe & Isabel. I found their jewelry on Instagram and immediately fell in love. They have beautiful statement pieces and a wide variety of styles so there is something for everyone. I encourage you to check them out and see for yourself!

The earrings and bracelet I'm wearing I received in my latest Rocksbox set. And I am OBSESSED. I've worn this bangle almost every day since my set arrived. I just love it! It looks great stacked with my watch, or great on its own. Simple yet statement. Right up my alley.

Oh look, another basic outfit with a statement piece. Am I predictable or what? What can I say - I like what I like! For real though. This is my weekend uniform. Jeans, a good tee, fun sneakers (or my favorite booties seen here) and a jacket. Give me that and I'm in heaven.

This jacket I absolutely LOVE. I was on the hunt for a great lightweight camo jacket and finally found this one at Nordstrom! I've dressed it down (case in point - this outfit) and I've also dressed it up over a LBD (see that pic below). I love jackets like this that can speak for themselves and add that extra little spice to an outfit.

Now let me tell you about these shoes. I am IN LOVE. I am such a sucker for cool sneakers and find that my collection keeps growing. I got these for Christmas and find any excuse I can to wear them. They're fun, they're comfortable and they just look plain cool. I love the pop of lime green in the lining and on the bottom of the shoe as well.
